The Golden Gate Canyon State Park offers less than 170 campsites that are a combination of sites with and without electrical access. Located just 30 miles away from Colorado?s capital city, the state park also offers five modestly furnished cabins, a pair of yurts, and a guest house that has stables ready for those with their own horses. Activities that visitors may enjoy include 35 miles worth of nature trail, some of which are for exclusive use of hikers or naturalists while the others can serve as trails for horseback riding and cycling as well. During winter, the state park also offers snow tubing and sledding as well as cross-country skiing. Fishing may be enjoyed all year round, too. For those staying overnight or longer, the state park also allows campers to have their pets with them ? provided they?re leashed ? and also offers laundry services as well as a picnic area for outdoor dining.
