The Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park is a state park and recreation area in Reidsville, Georgia. It has a unique history, making it quite a notable park to visit.

According to records, the Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park’s site was originally under water for about 20 million years. It then became a dense jungle, similar to those found in Africa, up until a million years ago.

Named after the endangered Gordonia tree, which can be found at the site, and the Altamaha River found nearby, the Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park is a popular family destination. Picnicking is the most popular activity at the park, as well as boating and fishing. The park also has a miniature and full blown golf course, as well as 5 cottages available for rent.
