The Miramont Castle was built in 1895 as Father Jean Baptist Francolon?s residence. The castle boasts of 9 styles of architecture that ranges from English Tudor to Byzantine. They are all crafted from locally quarried greenstone and yellow framing as well.
Today, the castle serves as a Museum that is dedicated to the preservation of the Victorian heritage of Manitou Springs as well as the region of the Pikes Peak. It also provides educational experiences and resources on its indigenous people.
The Museum tour enables visitors to view the splendid 42 rooms which are all adorned with Victorian furnishings, giving them an opportunity to experience the Victorian times. These rooms include the Queen?s Parlour Tea Room where guests can feast on Victorian fare that are freshly made.
