It got its name, however, from the nearby Mistletoe Junction, a local area where folks gather to pick mistletoe every winter holiday season.

Aside from fishing, the 1920 acre Mistletoe State Park also invites people to enjoy camping, boating, picnicking, canoeing, swimming, hiking, and biking at the park. Cabins and cottages are also available, and dogs are allowed inside the lodging facilities. RV and trailer camping are also available.
