The Providence Canyon State Park is a state park and recreation area in Lumpkin, Georgia. It is dubbed as Georgia?s ?Little Grand Canyon?.
Considered as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Georgia, the Providence Canyon State Park features the Providence Canyon. Most people come to the site to see it, although, there are other natural features that can be found at the park as well. For one, it is home to the extremely rare plumleaf azalea.
Visitors of the 1003 acre Providence Canyon State Park can enjoy camping, hiking, picnicking, and backpacking at the site. Stargazing is also pretty popularly done at the site, especially with its astronomy and geology programs. Photography is also frequently done at the park.
