Behold the breathtaking beauty of Colorado canyons from the majestic heights of the Red Rocks Park. This 286-acre mountain park is administered by the Denver Mountain Parks System. The park is popular for its distinctive towering red sandstone formations, which gave park its famous fitting name.

The red sandstone found everywhere in Red Rocks Park are believed to have been formed around 290-296 million years ago. The rocks are part of the Fountain Formation, a geological formation in Colorado which also includes the nearby Roxborough State Park, Flatirons near the city of Boulder, and Garden of the Gods at Colorado Springs.

The centerpiece of the Red Rocks Park is the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, a world-class outdoor concert venue which have been used for over a century. The park also offers standard state park activities such as hiking, camping, horseback riding, and nature photography.
