North of the town of Ridgway on U.S. 550, Ridgway State Park straddles the Uncompahgre River and offers opportunities for day and overnight recreation. The park includes three units, and it encompasses the Ridgway Reservoir and a section of Dallas Creek. There are yurts, cabins, tent sites, boat ramps, event facilities, fishing piers, picnic areas, trails, a swimming beach, and more. The simple trail system is appropriate for less-ambitious hikers.
