The Sangre de Cristo Mountains is known to be one of the longest mountain chain in the entire globe. It has a reach that extends up to Glorieta Pass in Mexico from Poncha Pass in Colorado. It boasts of about ten peaks that reach about 14,000 feet in height and it has more than two dozen peaks that reach more than 13,000 feet. There are actually lots to do in the mountain ranges.

It has world class alpine trails that are a favorite of the passionate hikers. It runs through acres that count millions that of San Isabel, Carson, Santa Fe National Forests, Rio Grande and a lot more. Other areas that are found within the range are Wheeler Peak, Pecos, Spanish Peaks and the other sections for National Wilderness. It is also home to some of the best spots for activities like rock climbing and even white water rafting in the country. It is also renowned for taking the opportunity to fly fish. It is a very essential habitat to lots of wildlife species of Colorado.
