It all started as a joke when the neighbors of Judy Messoline said that they are seeing UFO's after dark. Judy thought that this could turn into a living and so she built The UFO Watchtower. The tower has a gift shop and an actual viewing platform of ten-feet high.

The watchtower opened itself to public in 2000. Judy's watchtower is actually in the middle of San Luis Valley which is hailed as one of the world's best places to see UFO. Unexpectedly, Judy got a lot of visitors. People stop by Judy's place and tell her UFO stories. Now, the stories are compiled and binded and sold in her gift shop.

From the platform, the Great Sand Dune is visible on the east side while the most famous sighting is the Healing Garden. Many psychics have visited Judy's watchtower and declared that from the platform, one can see two vortexes. An outline of what is believed to be two large beings guarding the entrance of the vortexes are made on the ground from scraps and junks.

Judy said that she had over two dozens of personal UFO sightings at her own platform. Admission costs are $2 for per head for people and $5 for cars.
