The Vega State Park is one of Colorado?s several state parks. This 1,823-acre park is located in Mesa County, Colorado. Its main feature is the Vega Reservoir, a man-made reservoir finished in 1962 to address the water needs of the local community in the nearby Plateau Valley. This 925-acre lake is fed via a canal by waters streaming down from Park and Leon Creeks. The official state park was established in 1967.

The Vega Reservoir is a popular fishing and boating destination. Fishers can catch several species of trout in the lake, such as Cutbow and Rainbow trouts. The surrounding wetlands are also a wildlife reserve, where visitors can spot various fauna such as marmots, elks, mule deer, ground squirrels, and coyotes. Open the whole year, the park also provides amenities for activities such as camping, picnicking, hunting, and hiking.
