The Wheeler Opera House situated in Aspen was created in 1889 right at the peak of the mining prosperity of the city. In 1912, a total of two fire incidents caused the entire opera house to fall down and it was only restored back between the years of 1946 and 1960. Nowadays, it presents a wide variety of stage, musical and film productions all throughout the entire year.

Various film festivals are held in this opera house along with other historical musical events like the annual birthday events of the most famous band, the Beatles. It is also included in the National Register of Buildings. The Opera House is situated strategically with various restaurants and accommodations located nearby to take care of the needs of several tourists.
