The Winter Carnival is being celebrated now for about 93 years. It is held on a yearly basis right at Steamboat Springs. It renders numerous events which include a lot of outdoor adventure with film festivals, ski jumps, bike races, snow boarding, tube parties, pancake breakfasts, and many more. It also where you can witness a variety of street events with horses and riders pulling the kids right on main street.

The main emphasis of the festival is the huge fireworks display along with the Lighted Man. It is a set of effigy set alight. This is such an event to end all excuses of not playing in snow. This is the time where you will see the place packed with lots of tourists.
