The Downtown Cabaret Theater is a production theater located in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The theater is the successor to the Sacred Heart University Cabaret. The creation of the new Downtown Cabaret Theater was formed partly because of the need for a professional theater company in the downtown Bridgeport area. These men and women included former mayor Nicholas Panuzio, Norwick Goodspeed, Samuel and Alexander Hawley and Leete Doty.

The theater officially opened its doors to the public in February 27, 1976 starting with a performance from the Vaudeville Troupe. Visitors and tourists who would like to experience a different kind of fun should expect to feel a different vibe as the Downtown Cabaret Theater follows a ?Bring Your Own Picnic? setup.

Connecticut?s Downtown Cabaret Theater features two distinct stages for different types of entertainment. Adults can stay and enjoy the music and the good spirited fun with the Downtown Cabaret Theater?s main stage. This stage is the bigger stage and is the ideal place for musical performances from experienced acts as well as up-and-coming performers. The Cabaret?s main stage also features some of the best tribute performances with the help of great musicians. Some of the popular musical acts that has received the appropriate tribute include Simon and Garfunkel, The Rolling Stones and the Beatles. Guests can also catch original performances produced and created in the Cabaret.

Younger guests and visitors can also get tickets to watch performances in the Downtown Cabaret Theater?s kid?s stage. The kids stage focuses on adaptations of classic children?s story books such as ?Snow White and the Seven Dwarves?, ?Alice in Wonderland? and the theater?s original play entitled ?Frankenstein: The Halloween Hi-jinks Musical Comedy?.
