The Durham Fair in Connecticut was initially organized in September of 1916 and featured traditional agricultural programs. Today, it is well-known in the U.S as one of the biggest agricultural events and as the second biggest fair in North America organized wholly by volunteers known as the Durham Agricultural Fair Association. Aside from its members, other local groups like churches, schools, communities, and clubs contribute their time and efforts for the fair. They also take this opportunity to raise money and promote their own organizations.

The agricultural fair is celebrated for three days, usually during the last weekends of September every year. Patrons can enjoy activities such as livestock exhibits and competitions, pulling challenges, crafts and other commercial vendors, dance and musical performances and a carnival.
