Kids better know where the throw their trash! To learn more about garbage and proper waste disposal and recycling, they should visit the Garbage Museum in Hartford, Connecticut.

The Garbage Museum opened in 1993. This is part of the Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority, or CRRA, a Connecticut-based organization of towns and cities that oversee the disposal and recycling of waste. The Garbage Museum?s main attraction is the ?Trash-O-Saurus?, a dinosaur model made entirely of trash. It is displayed right at the building?s central lobby. This scrap-made dinosaur supposedly represents the amount of trash one person creates every year.

For public tours, the museum can watch the recycling center above a skywalk observation. From that observation point, the visitors can see the whole process of recycling, from the collector trucks to crushing pit to final processing machines.
