The Silver Sands State Park is a state park and recreation area in Milford, Connecticut. It is best known for offering an excellent beach, perfect for summer outings and getaways.
There are a lot of things about the Silver Sands State Park that makes it quite a special park. For one, it features the Charles Island, which visitors of the park can go to during low tide by foot. The island is connected to the mainland by a tombolo or a sand/gravel bar which gets submerged underwater during high tide. The Charles Island is also part of the legend where Captain Kidd allegedly buried his treasure in 1699.
The Silver Sands State Park also boasts of a stunning beach. Past visitors also like to gush about the fact that it is a great place if you don?t want a beach that is covered by people all the time.
