Holy Trinity Church Rating: None

As Delaware saw an influx of Swede migration in the 1600s, it is fairly typical to find traces of the foreign culture in the area. One great example of such is the Holy Trinity Church, also known as the Old Swedes Church, in Wilmington, Delaware.

Completed in 1699, the Holy Trinity Church delivered service in Swedish until the 18th century. It was made out of local blue granite and some Swedish bricks that were used in the ship that transported the settlers.

The Holy Trinity Church is believed to be the oldest church in the United States that is still standing as it was originally designed and built. It became a part of the National Register of Historic Places in 1961.
