The Horseshoe Crab & Shorebird Festival happens right in time of the laying of eggs of the species of the horseshow crab on the surrounding beaches of the place. You can also get to see the shorebirds feeding on these eggs before they pursue their three days of migrating trip to their next home for the summer. This is what the event celebrates about.

During the festival, you can experience a lot of live music and sumptuous food all around. The visitors are given much emphasis to what can be learned about the area along with its wildlife, not missing out of course on talks about the shorebirds and the crabs. Artwork pieces are also featured along with plays that are completely educational.
