The New Candlelight Theatre combines fine dining with superb musical theater entertainment. The theater is located in historic Ardentown, Delaware, just minutes from downtown Wilmington and a short drive from Philadelphia. Originally a summer stock theater in the 1930s called ?The Robin Hood Theatre,? it later became Delaware?s first dinner theater in 1969 under the ownership of John O?Toole and Julian Borris and was called "Candlelight Music Dinner Theatre." The theater produced five shows annually for 35 years, nurturing the talents of many including Tony Award-winner Susan Stroman, film star Bruce Willis, Broadway musical star Diane Fratantoni. In 2003, the theater changed owner again, renovated and reopened February 2004 with A Chorus Line production under its present name in.

The Candlelight Theatre?s colorful history includes its becoming a non-profit in 2006, establishing a Season Subscription base and receiving2 Barrymore nominations in their first year of eligibility for its production of Chicago in 2007, and garnering over 13,000 patron attendance in their various main stage productions and specialty events in 2009. List of 2011 main stage productions includes Cats, The Full Monty, Annie, Damn Yankess, and A Very Candlelight Christmas. The New Candlelight Theatre has performances every Friday, Saturday and Sunday (except some Holidays) with various Thursday evening and Wednesday matinees.
