The University of Delaware Mineralogical Museum is a geology museum in Newark, Delaware. It is a part of the University of Delaware?s University Museums.
Housed in Penny Hall, the University of Delaware Mineralogical Museum started out with the generous gift of Irenee du Pont, Sr. Mr. du Pont got the collection from the then vice-President of Tiffany & Co., George Kunz, in 1919. The collection was originally on display in the Tiffany showroom in New York City before it called the University Museum as its home.
The University of Delaware Mineralogical Museum is home to more than 450 specimens of various geological materials including minerals, copper ore, and many others. They also support programs of the university and provides educational materials to other schools.
