It probably is the concert hall in the United States with the most patriotic name. The DAR Constitution Hall is a concert hall in the nation?s capital owned by Daughters of the American Revolution, a women?s group based in the United States.
The Constitution Hall is a Neoclassical edifice built in 1929 for the purpose of holding annual conventions. This Alabama limestone-hall houses the largest auditorium in the capital ? an unusual U-shaped balcony designed to maximize seating accommodations. At present, the hall is used for concerts, orchestras, conferences, corporate meetings, lectures, academic exhibits, and other events. The hall once served as the home of the National Symphony Orchestra. It is also notable for being visited by every US president since Calvin Coolidge. It was declared a National Historic Landmark on September 16, 1985.
