The funky non-profit centre is directed by artists and community members dedicated to promoting, presenting and preserving the cultural heritage of arts in America, the Fondo Del Sol is offers changing exhibitions of the works of state current artist in craftsmen. The Fondo Del Sol was formed in 1973 and is a bilingual community museum and displays portions of the permanent collection of Colombian art, Santos or carved wooden saints, folk and contemporary art.

The Fondo Del Sol also is a generous sponsor to a number of concerts, lectures, poetry reading, performance art activities, exhibit tours and educational programs throughout the whole year. The Fondo Del Sol also houses the yearly celebration of the Caribbeana Festival that features Caribbean art and culture, video and performances of salsa and reggae music.

Strange to the nation?s capital, the programs of the Fondo Del Sol Visual Arts center strives to promote a greater acceptance of the Worlds rich multi-cultural heritage. The Fondo Del Sol also organizes a free yearly ?weekend celebration? in late summer featuring work of arts dedicated to families.
