The Global Museum on Communism is the first museum on the Internet that provides in-depth information about communism. It provides exhibits of photographs and historical accounts taken from each nation and the people that suffered under the communism rule. This Internet museum publishes interactive timelines, maps, and archives from several countries.

The Global Museum on Communism provides a deep story about communism, taken from The Communist Manifesto written by Karl Marx and the series of historical documents on brutal suppression of Tibet by Communist China. Also, the museum protects the memories of suffering victims by recording their stories, collecting images, and recounts unknown and well-known heroes who fought and died opposing communism.

Aside from these exhibits and published stories, the Global Museum on Communism has also launched a magazine that would provide information and educate the general public and Internet users about this government system. The museum also welcomed contributions of photos and stories from people around the world and these were handpicked and featured on its ?Webpick of the Week? by the visuals communications department of the museum. It also has plans to broadcast a regular Internet radio for China, Vietnam, Cuba, sponsored by Eastern European governments, private sectors and foundations, and a thousand individual donors.

The Global Museum of Communism was established by the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, a non-profit organization that seeks to commemorate more than 100 million victims from communism. Built by an Act of Congress to build a memorial in Washington DC, this organization?s mission is to educate the present and future generations about the history, philosophy, and legacy of communism.

The Global Museum of Communism, along with the foundation, survives through individual donations and funding from other organizations and other agencies. These notable contributors include the Phillips International, Inc, the American Latvian Association, Washington Times Foundation, and The Heritage Foundation.
