Museums and galleries abound at the nation?s capital, Washington DC. If you want to go somewhere that is managed by a government state department, then head on at the 1849 C Street and visit the Interior Museum.
As its name implies, this museum is administered by the United States Department of the Interior. It is located inside the first floor of the Department?s headquarters at the Main Interior Building in Washington, DC. The museum opened in 1938. The permanent exhibits are divided into galleries that cater especially to the department?s various offices and bureaus. These agencies include United States Fish and Wildlife Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Land Management, and United States Geological Survey.
Other exhibits include several fossils and mineral from different federal lands. All visitors must present an ID to enter.
