The panorama of the National Mall will not be complete without the glistening surface of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. This 618m x 51m pool is one of the many reflecting pools in the capital. This man-made body of water completes the iconic image representing the US capital of Washington D.C.

The pool is lined with trees and walkways where people can walk leisurely as they visit the other attractions in the National Mall, such as the National Museum of American History and the famous Lincoln Memorial.

Besides being an integral part of this cultural symbol, the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is also the site for many major events. These events include the 1963 Civil Rights rally led by Martin Luther King, during which he delivered the famous ?I Have a Dream? speech, and the Obama Inaugural Celebration in 2009.
