The Appleton Museum of Art is an art museum in Ocala, Florida. Thanks to its excellent heritage, the site is now one of the premier art museums in the South.

Appleton Museum of Art traces its roots back to the early 1980s when it was founded and opened. Originally, the plan was the museum was to house Arthur I. Appleton’s art collection. However, as time went by, more pieces were added, which now totals to around 16,000 art works and items. These pieces include Asian, African, European, Contemporary, pre-Columbian, and American works and artifacts. The site is also working on building a collection of pieces from Florida artists that are somewhat related to the cultural history and heritage of the Central Florida region.
