The Asolo Theater is a historic performance venue in Sarasota, Florida. It has quite a rich history and heritage that adds to its charm.

Originally built in 1798 by the Italian impresario Antonio Locatelli, the Asolo Theater was actually built in Asolo, Italy. It originally stood in the former audience hall of the castle of the former Queen of Cyprus, Caterina Cornaro. It was modeled after the La Fenice and was once the home theatre of Eleonora Duse, a noted Italian actress. The theatre was shipped and moved to Florida in 1949 and was set up in the Ringling museum in 1952. It was opened in 1958, staging a production of Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
