The Bay of Pigs Museum tells of the history of the Bay of Pigs Invasion, which is, in simplest words, a botched attempt of the CIA-trained group of Cuban exiles to invade southern Cuba. It was launched in 1961 in effort to overthrow the Cuban government under Fidel Castro. The museum was consequently established to tell people about the said historical event and its outcomes. It is also built in memory of the survivors and the ones who died in part of it.
