The Blizzard Beach is a water park in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. It is a part of the Walt Disney World Resort.

Opened in 1995, the Blizzard Beach features a ?Disney legend? that involves a freak snowstorm that leads to the establishment of a ski resort, the first in the state. But since Florida is notorious for its warm climate, the snow couldn?t possibly last long, so the structures of the resort would deem useless when the site closes down, which is the impending fate of the venue. When the ski resort was about to be closed down, an alligator was seen sliding down a flume and falling into a pool of water. This is the story of the creation of the Blizzard Beach with the alligator named ?Ice Gator? as its mascot.
