In a way, the Brevard Zoo is more like a kid-friendly park than a typical zoo because of its garden-like design and the number of small creatures it cares for and which may be petted by visitors.

Typical with other zoos, however, the place is divided into various themes or sections. When kids go to Expedition Africa, they can view popular African animal species such as gazelles and rhinos. Not to be missed as well is the Australia-Asia aviary, where numerous bird species enjoy spreading their wings and exercising their flight muscles.

Besides money to purchase tickets, visitors should also have extra to spare for food to feed some of the zoo?s animals such as giraffes, crocodiles, bobcats, and otters. At an extra cost, visitors may also enjoy kayak rides across the site?s river.
