It started out as a winter home for northern spiritualists, led by George Colby, who is also considered as the town?s father. Today, the area is considered to be the ?Psychic Center of the World? with numerous psychics, healers, and ghost whisperers about town.

The Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp is the oldest active religious community in the region, making it a great spot to visit. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
