The Chapman Botanical Garden is a botanical garden in Apalachicola, Florida. It is located inside the Orman House Historic State Park.
The Chapman Botanical Garden was created in 1980 memory and honor of Dr. Alvin Wentworth Chapman. Dr. Chapman was an Apalachicola resident and a premier botanist during the 19th century. He was also credited for the discovery of several species of rare plants in Florida. His book, The Flora of the Southern United States, is still considered as a popular reference today.
The Chapman Botanical Garden features the excellence of Dr. Chapman in his field of study. He dedicated most of his life in research and study of the natural world, so a botanical garden as a memorial is just a fitting tribute to him.
