Also known as the Crystal River Indian Mounds, the Crystal River Archeological State Park is a declared National Historic Landmark and a Florida State Park.

The site of the Crystal River Archeological State Park is once a mound complex, created by the Native American pre-Columbian mound builders. It is believed to be the longest continuously occupied site of its sort in the state, with traces of activities that could have lasted for 1600 years. The site contains mounds for burial, temple, plaza, and a midden.

There are various activities available in the Crystal River Archeological State Park. Visitors can enjoy picnicking, bird watching, a boat tour of the river, fishing, walking trails, and a trip through the museum that features the items recovered from the site.
