The DeSoto Site Historic State Park is a state park and historic site in Tallahassee, Florida. It has played a role in the development of the state?s past for being the camping site of Hernando DeSoto and his men during the winter of 1539 to 1540.

Also known as the DeSoto Winter Encampment Site, the DeSoto Site Historic State Park is believed to be the village of Anhaica, the site where DeSoto and his men stayed during the said time period. There were no physical evidences available to prove the claim until 1987, when Calvin Jones found 16th century Spanish artifacts in the area. This made this venue the first confirmed DeSoto site in North America.

Today, the DeSoto Site Historic State Park is open as a small, undeveloped state park. You can find a marker and interpretive panel inside, telling of the site?s story.
