Located 109 kilometers west of Key West, Florida, the 262-km area park contains the historic Fort Jefferson and the pristine waters of Dry Tortuga park. Aside from its diverse sea life, the park is also popular for its colorful coral reefs, tales of pirates and treasures, and its military history. The park?s main attraction is Fort Jefferson, a massive coastal fortress built during the 19th century.

Visitors to the island can enjoy tours of the island. Other activities include snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, and the famous Sooty Tern Nesting birdwatching.
