The Egmont Key National Wildlife Refuge and State Park is a state park and national wildlife refuge area in Palmetto, Florida. It is best known for being the natural habitat of a wide range of plants and animals that are commonly threatened or endangered.

Established in 1974, the Egmont Key National Wildlife Refuge and State Park is located in both a luscious and historic environment. The site traces its roots back to 1757 when it was first surveyed by Spanish explorers. It was also used as the US Army?s Fort Dade Military Reservation.

While at the Egmont Key National Wildlife Refuge and State Park you can enjoy swimming, boating, picnicking, shelling, and wildlife viewing. There are no food, water, and restrooms available on site, though.
