Its main attraction and highlight is the 45 foot deep natural spring. The spring serves as the headwater of the Homosassa River. It was outfitted by the site with an underwater observatory, allowing visitors to meet various aquatic animals up close and face to face without having to get wet or disturb their natural activities. Among the animals that you can encounter in the site are manatees, alligators, crocodiles, river otters, deer, bobcats, and black bears.
