Everglades Alligator Farm is South Florida?s oldest alligator farm. Situated near the Everglades National Park main entrance, it is known for having more than 2,000 alligators of various sizes. A walk around the farm affords guest a chance to see the alligators, crocodiles, caimans and other wildlife. There is also a great display of local snakes and some of the more exotic snake species from around the world. The farm also boasts in housing the famous 14 feet ?Granpa? alligator. Aside from its resident gators, the farm also offers a fantastic guided airboat tours. Everglades Alligator Farm is also perfect for videos or photo still with its rustic environment and exotic wildlife. The farm also serves as a venue to host children?s parties.

Visitors will enjoy the alligator show in which expert handlers will demonstrate to the guest some primitive capturing techniques used by Native American Indian. After the show will be photo opportunities for a live baby alligator. Guests can also see how alligators feed in the wild, as they chomp down and crawl over one another to get their meal. The snake show will educate the guest on what snakes to look out for while exploring the everglades, as well as the dangerous effect of bringing new and invasive species. Guests may also get a chance to pass around a snake or take a photo.

The Everglades Alligator Farm collects eggs every year and sells them to other alligator farms. The farm employs alligator experts as well as trained snake handlers. The farm has been the filming location for over 50 shows including Animal Planet?s ?Animal Cops:Miami? in 2010, ?Donnawentura in 2009 which is an Italian reality show, and NBC?s ?The Today Show.?
