The location one of Florida’s first-magnitude springs, the Fanning Springs State Park is one of the most visited fresh water spring area in the state.

The Fanning Springs State Park located in the town of Fanning Springs is well known recreational area located around one of the state’s 33 first magnitude springs. Although historically a first magnitude spring until the 1990’s, Fanning Springs today is considered a second magnitude springs because of the lower water discharged amounting to less than 65 million gallons of water a day.

Activities in the park include swimming and snorkeling in the spring, there is also a picnic area, volleyball court, playground and a boardwalk with fantastic views of the spring and the Suwannee River.
