As the South has a great connection with the Wright Brothers, it is not surprising to find several attractions around the region that are dedicated to aviation history. The First Plane Replica is one of the great examples of these places, albeit this one is more of a roadside attraction than a regular venue.

Built in 1991, the First Plane Replica was created as a tribute to the aviation history. It was the idea of the students of the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University or the ERAU, which is also the flying school in Daytona Beach, Florida, where the replica stands. It is made of stainless steel and stands 40 feet in height. Some say that it is also more than a replica, but a life size diorama that replicates the event of the first flight.
