Considered one of the most beautiful Palm Beach museums, the Flagler Museum is housed in Whitehall Estate, a mansion that Henry Flagler originally built as a wedding present for his bride Mary Lily Kenan. It was completed in 1902 and the New York Herald had praised its architecture, for which the great tandem of Carrere and Hastings was responsible, describing it as “more wonderful” than any other private residence and European palace.

Today, the museum is registered as a National Historic Landmark, featuring various and rotating exhibits. The mansion, which covers 60,000 square feet of land, is now a fifty-five room mansion called Beaux Arts.

While at the site, visitors may enjoy a Gilded Age-styled lunch at the Cafes des Beaux-Arts.

If interested in other Florida museums, you should also check out the Norton Museum at West Palm Beach.
