The Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park is a historic site and a Florida state park located in Key West, Florida. It is best known as a popular recreation area and for having a rich military history.

Serving as the southernmost state park in the state of Florida, the Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park offers a lot of things to its visitors. History-wise, the site has been around since 1845, built as a part of a defense plan to protect the southeast coast through a series of forts. Later research and excavations also established the fact that the site once housed the country?s largest collection of Civil War cannons.

Recreation-wise, the Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park offers beaches, hiking, interpretive exhibits, picnicking, scuba diving, snorkeling, tours, wildlife viewing, fishing, and tons of other things that can be enjoyed while at the site.
