Opened in 1921 by the well known aviation pioneer, Glenn Curtis, with his partner, James Bright, the Hialeah Park Race Track is one of the oldest extant recreational facilities in the southern Florida region. It is also known as the Hialeah Race Track, Hialeah Park, and as the Miami Jockey Club.

The Hialeah Park Race Track operated as a venue for horse racing from its opening, until 2001 when new laws were passed preventing it to operate again. Tons of issues broke out, but it was able to open again in 2009, when the city awarded the owner with a racing permit. Also, with the help of the deal struck by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, the site was allowed to operate slot machines and Quarter Horse Races.

Renovations and restorations are still on the way as a huge amount of money is needed to complete the project thoroughly.
