The Hillsborough River State Park is a state park in Thonotosassa, Florida. It is quite a popular park, especially since it offers a great nature adventure within just minutes out of Tampa.

The Hillsborough River State Park was opened in 1938 and is one of the first state parks in Florida. It was developed by the government in order to provide much needed jobs and a recreational venue for the public. It offers a wide range of activities which include fishing, birding, swimming, camping, kayaking, canoeing, nature photography, and historic tours. The site is also home to the replica of the historic Fort Foster, which was built around the area in 1837 during the Second Seminole War.

The Hillsborough River State Park is closed on Fridays.
