The site started from the donation of TT Wentworth who gave his large historical collection to the state of Florida. The establishment of the organization followed suit in order to take care of the generous gift.

The Historic Pensacola Village features 10 historic house museums and several other historic buildings including the TT Wentworth Jr. Florida State Museum, the Bowden Building, Old Christ Church, Dorr House, Julee Cottage, Weaver’s Cottage, Museum of Commerce, Museum of Industry, Lear-Rocheblave House, Lavalle House, and the Historic Pensacola’s Tivoli High House.
