The Historic Smallwood Store is a history museum in Chokoloskee, Florida. It is best known for being a great spot where folks could learn more about the Chokoloskee Island, also known as one of Florida’s last frontiers.

Also known as the Historic Smallwood Store & Museum, the Historic Smallwood Store features the Smallwood Store, a general store that has been around since 1906. It was originally an Indian trading post that has operated until 1982. It has seen a great deal of history, including the 1910 Watson incident, wherein the outlaw Ed Watson was greeted with a shootout when he beached in an area nearby.

The Historic Smallwood Store also features several displays, making it something like a time capsule of Florida pioneer history.
