The Jacksonville Public Library is a 300,000 square feet large library system. It consists of a Main Library and twenty regional, community and neighborhood branch libraries. Other than books, the library also serves the needs of the community with the Talking Books Library for disabled customers. It also has an active adult literacy program, to decrease illiteracy rate within the community.

The Jacksonville Public Library is open to everyone in Duval County and also people from the neighboring counties. When you visit here, you can choose among the different rooms with different themes. There are sections inside that hold a collection of historical books, scientific and others, fictional books. There?s also a special section for children that?s colored with playful hues and designs.

The vision of the Jacksonville Public Library is that through reading, people can start going places. The organization?s mission is to connect people with ideas that enlighten, encourage, inspire, enrich, and delight.
