The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art is an art museum in Sarasota, Florida. It is Florida?s official state art museum.
Opened in 1931, the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art started out as John Ringling?s way of housing his personal art collection. He hired John H. Philips to design the museum in 1925, but it took some time to finish it, mostly after all the crises that occurred during the late 1920s.
Today, the John and Mable Ringling Museum boasts of more than 10,000 pieces and works of art on display. The exhibits feature paintings, antiquities, sculptures, drawings, photographs, drawings, and other decorative arts that are from all over the world, some even dates back to the ancient times.
