The Key West Fantasy Fest is a 10-day event in Key West, Florida held every October of the year. The first fest was celebrated in 1979 when two Florida businessmen Tony Falcone and Bill Conkle mounted a party to attract business in the locality. The first Fantasy Fest included events like costume competitions, parade, body painting, fund raising for AIDS patients, costume parties, drag queen contests, and other family-gathering events. Considering the October period as the least peak season for tourism in Florida, this annual festival in Key West draws at least 100,000 visitors yearly.

One of the most anticipated events in Fantasy Festival is the Goombay. It is a two-day street fair in Bahama Village in Key west, Florida. There are lots of Bahamian arts, dance, and foods feature in the party. There are also goatskin drums which give rhythm to the street party.

The Key West Fantasy Festival is not complete without the Masquerade March. It is the day-time procession along the streets of Key West where giant and colourful floats are being displayed together with marching bands and street performers.

The Pretenders in Paradise also attracts people because of the variety of creative costumes in the annual costume competition. There is also an event for pets, the Pet Masquerade, which is a costume party and contest for pets. Other anticipated events in the festival are the Royal Coronation ball of Conch King and Queen, the Headdress Ball, and the culmination day which is the Fantasy Fest Parade.
