The Lake County Historical Museum is a local history museum in Tavares, Florida. It features a wide array of displays that chronicles the past and heritage of Lake County and its surrounding areas.

The Lake County Historical Museum most prominently features an alligator skull. It is one of the most distinguished displays on the site, which is also quite apt, as the state is rich with natural habitat for these creatures. The skull was once a part of the 13-footer ?Lake County Monster?, making it more note-worthy.

Aside from the displays, the Lake County Historical Museum is also located inside the historic Old Lake County Courthouse. It was built in 1922 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
